Playgroup · Ages 1–3

Where the mess is the whole point.

A weekly playgroup for ones, twos and threes — rainbow rice, warm foam, paint and bubbles. Every squelch and splash is building language, confidence and connection.

Why messy play

Mess is how the youngest children think.

Before they have the words, ones and twos reach for the world with their hands. Squeezing, pouring, smearing and scooping is how a very young child tests what things are and learns to name them. Every station is set up for talk — an adult beside them, putting language onto what their hands are already discovering.

Made here. Our trays are filled with things a Kampala family recognises — banana fibre, maize cobs, bottle tops, clay, seeds and dried beans — so the play connects to the world outside the gate, and comes from our own Wonder Curriculum.

Inside a session

Four kinds of glorious mess.

Sessions move through hands-on stations, each one chosen for what it builds — grip and pouring, colour and cause-and-effect, mark-making, and the pure joy that keeps a child coming back.

01

Specialists in the building

Speech therapy, occupational therapy and developmental assessment are all here — not a referral across town. If something in your child's play catches an expert's eye, that conversation can happen the same week.

02

Every child welcome

Children of every ability play side by side here — it is simply how Bluemoon works. Differently abled little ones are in the same trays as everyone else, with support woven quietly into the session.

03

A gentle first step

Our playgroup is the warm on-ramp into Bluemoon. Children who start here already know the faces, the rooms and the rhythm when they move up into Busy Bees and Lilypads.
